Parker was artist in residence in college in Cardiff before she was such a 'name'. She seems to have become contraversial when she put what's-her-name in a box and since been one of the modern art rent-a-quotes. Although not seen 'real thing' there is the suspended flattened silverwear that I'm sure looks amazing a well....Of course this all preceded the recent shed-boat thing by other artist that caused recent furore.
have you seen the exploded shed at the Tate?it's fantastic...almost like being in a cathedral space, but something more too...fascinating, poring over the detail, all the half blown-up stuff, and suspended so beautifully....
it's odd revisiting stuff isn't it? i reread Les Grandes Meaulnes by Alain Fournier recently, and it had lost most of the charm that had first captured me when i read it as a teenager. but as it is a book about that strange space between childhood, adolesence and adulthood maybe it is only meant to be read by teenagers! i dunno.
